What to do ?

Although the district is mostly made up of office buildings, the European district has several large parks, such as the Brussels Park, the Leopold Park, and the huge Cinquantenaire Park (which, by the way, houses the Royal Museum of the Army and Military History and the automobile museum Autoworld).

If you want to go shopping during your stay, the chic shops of the Toison d’Or Avenue, about 10 minutes away by public transport, are great addresses.

There are many means of transport available in the area, which make Brussels city centre quickly accessible. You will have no trouble moving around. The district has 4 metro stations: Schuman, Maelbeek, Throne and Arts-Loi. Concerning rail transportation, you can choose between the Brussels Schuman and the Brussels-Luxembourg railway stations. Brussels National Airport is only about twenty minutes away by car.

During your walks in the neighbourhood, do not hesitate to visit the many museums, theatres and cinemas. Go visit the Natural Science Museum, the House of European History, or the Wiertz Museum. There are also two cinemas in the area: the UGC Toison d’Or and the Vendôme cinema. Famous theatres like the Varia Theatre, or the Toison d’Or Theatre welcome you to satisfy your spectacle cravings. All this, just in the European district! If you want to move away from the surroundings, the city centre is the place to be!

Lastly, if you are hungry, great restaurants, such as “Kafeino”, “O-Choice”, “Madou’s Folie”, or “Barbanera” will not disappoint.
